This restaurant has seen better days , at £12 for a pasta dish it needs to be good and sadly it isn't - bad overpriced food - non attentive service - avoid unless you literally have no alternative .

We happened upon Porcini after a long walk and checked reviews on this site. It was raining so decided to try it despite a 6/10 average. I am very glad we did. I had muscles in a coconut sauce to start followed by black ink linguini with sepia (cuttlefish). This is a 9/10 restaurant.

I've twice missed their "deadline" of 2.30pm to sit down and found them inflexible and rude. We arrived at 2.28 on a Bank Holiday. They still refused to allow us in saying they were "closing at 3pm". At 3.45pm, there was still a large group of diners there. We had finished our meal elsewhere.

Great value set menus. The food is always good and tastes fresh. Fantastic service - friendly and attentive but not obtrusive - means we're happy to eat there when it's full or almost empty.
It's our "local" so we go there at least once a week, but would happily travel just to get there.
And...excellent STRONG espresso to finish.

Food was very expensive and not worth the money in our opinion.Service almost seemed a chore and when we voiced our dissatisfaction at the end of the meal, which all three of us barely touched, the manager just seemed disinterested to the point of rudeness. It was a busy Saturday and we only tried this restaurant because our usual Saturday pizza treat restaurant had a large birthday party going on and had no tables available for an hour.Next time we will wait!

The food was delicious, with the meals set at good prices. The service staff were friendly and helpful and the whole atmosphere was great! Will be going back there soon.

2 starters excellent , 1 moderate . 3 mains fine though veal not quite tender. desserts ( & I quote my daughter ) " bloody lovely " . Staff friendly , helpful without being over-attentive . Willingly provided spare chair to prop my injured leg . 2nd visit this week ; will eat here again .

Absolutely fabulous, especially so on a summer day or evening when the front of the building is left opened onto the pavement giving a feeling of "al fresco".
Great menu with interesting dishes executed with what seems a particular attention to detail. Great service also in a pleasant atmosphere. I thoroughly recommend it!

I dined at Porcini for the 4th time in the past year last night and it was the best yet. I don't know if it was my choice of food that made it stand out but i would deifntely recommend it!
My starter was chargrilled med veg- i wish i could make veggies taste so good! This was followed by scallops wrapped in bacon with angelhair pasta and a lemon veloute. The scallops were really gorgeous and as usual the side dish of roast pots and green beans etc was lovely too. I felt i had to write a review when i saw that there was none on this site. If you do go i'd book as it seems busy all the time! Enjoy!
