A tiny, unassuming and traditional Japanese Sushi Bar hidden away from the foodie hotspots has accelerated the pace. Husband and wife team, Harumi and Toru Takahashi have elevated the cooking, service and profile of this dainty restaurant, to make it a real favourite amongst the capital's most discerning palates! The restaurant specialises in Sushi and Sashimi under the watchful eye of Chef Toru who accepts nothing less than that finest of ingredients to create his mouth-watering dishes. Harumi runs the front of house and has made an art of establishing a real connection with each of the restaurant's diners, to deliver the very best Sushi experience in the capital.
The size of the restaurant and relatively restricted opening hours mean that reservations are essential and hard to come by! Only telephone reservations in person are accepted, no children under the age of 12, and no parties larger than 4 are permitted.

The best places to eat Japanese food in London
We point you in the direction of some of London's best Japanese food
Owned and operated by husband and wife team, Harumi and Toru Takahashi, Sushi Tetsu is a tiny restaurant in the heart of Clerkenwell. With space for only seven at the bar, bookings must be made well in advance. The best way to enjoy the likes of fresh sea urchin, yellow-fin tuna and black bream is to leave yourself in the master’s capable hands by booking 1.5 or 2 hours of service. Expensive but worth every penny.
Toughest places to get a table in London
Who doesn't love a challenge?
This one's not impossible to get into because of an elite booking policy, but rather because it only seats seven around the chef's counter. The very definition of cosy, it's possibly the best sushi restaurant in the capital, and you get to watch it all being prepared milimetres away from your eyes. Ask the chef to prepare it to your own specifications if you want to show off your expertise.
