I'm no aficionado when it comes to Japanese food, I've eaten a fair bit of sushi in my time as well as plenty of Bento boxes (and I've even eaten a few meals in Japan) but I've never eaten Japanese food like this before - I don't know whether this restaurant is particularly inventive or if they specialise in a certain type regional cuisine - but it was excellent!

There were noodles, omelettes, cheeses (which I've never seen in Japanese cooking before) and seafood - or masterfully prepared.

Portion sizes aren't huge, so be mindful of that if you are looking to be well fed.

If you fancy sampling Japanese food, try Abeno! We chose a dish which a pretty girl server cooked on a large hotplate in the centre of the table. She oiled the hotplate surface and mixed 3 eggs and rice in a bowl, divided/poured ten equal blobs of the egg mixture onto the oiled hotplate. To each blob she then added finely chopped raw meats and vegetables that we had earlier chosen. We chose steak, tiger prawn, pork, squid and duck meats, Veg: carrot and burdock, yam, "curry" and kimche. The resulting mini feast was delectable, especially when washed down with fiery hot Sake! It is a good sign that The restaurant is frequented by mainly Japanese people and we felt like very honoured guests!
