Now these are worthy of an Ay-aii-aiiii!

El Pacifico isn’t the cheapest Mexican restaurant you’re likely to find in London but it is one of the capital’s most established. This is the place to come for large groups and families who expect an authentic environment to go along with their tacos, fajitas and enchiladas. The food is wholesome and the list of tequilas is impressive.

Thirsty? Just as well...

Back in the 80s Mexican food may have been scarcehowever Café Pacifico was around, having opened in 1982. It may not be classed as the most “authentic” of Mexican venues, but it’s a good place to get a strong margarita in a large jug.

I hadn't been to Pacifico for years but went along recently for lunch. The staff weren't the most polite I've experienced but then I remember that from past visits.

The food was, however, up to the standard I recalled. Big portions (althogh expensive) and good ingredients. I won't leave it so long again.

Can't go wrong with Cafe Pacifico - Food is always consistently good! Great venue with lively atmosphere! Great venue for groups. Staff are very busy though and can be slow in waiting tables. Definitely worth a try!!

We went tonight, both vegetarians. Very limited choice, largely tortillas with salad and sauce. Refried beans bland, rice had horrible artifical taste, so not impressed with the food. Do so much better at home. Even less impressed with the dead mouse on the floor which we had to point out to the waiters and again unimpressed that they did not thank us and apologise for pointing it out. Will not be going back

My friends and I went to this restaurant on Friday night. We spent in total over £112. I now wish I had said something before paying up. I thought the food was terrible. After reading the menu, I was at first struggling to make a decision, the menu is very varied, there is a lot of choice. But, when the food came out, I was totally astonished to realise that the rice was packet microwaveable rice (the smell gives it away) - and the fajitas seemed like the sort you would by from a packet at a supermarket. That's not even mentioning the re-fried beans from a can and Chicken that was so overcooked, there simply was no taste left. I think it is unbelievable that you can get away with this standard of food in a restaurant in Covent Garden, where you are charging prices that would stipulate the food to be made on-sight FRESH! I think it is almost unforgiveable what they are doing at this restaurant and I shall certainly never be going back for another visit!!!

Whenever we come up to London, Cafe Pacifico is the first place we go to eat. I am unable to comment about the standard during the evening as only visited in the daytime, but cannot rate highly enough. Both the standard of service and the food is fantastic, with the size of portions, especially the main courses being more than enough, a slow walk afterwards is required, would highly recommend this little gem just off Covent Garden.
