For 30 years, Hayes Tandoori has been my Indian restaurant of choice. Wide range of food without over-expanding the menu, cooked by chefs that know what they are doing. They are happy to alter any dish for your taste, and 'tell them I'm Asian' gets it hot enough for me, though I'm not Asian.
I see another review here criticises the lamb. That's puzzling. Yes, their 'lamb' has always been mutton, but in the wet curries it is all slow-cooked, so should be perfect.
Restaurant is now closed pending a move, prob back to where they were by the station. In the meantime, try Zayani in Si

i wanted to order an Indian take away for a special occasion for my husband so i called Hayes Tandoori, 110-112 coldharbour lane, hayes, ub3
the food arrived, it was saag gosth, makhani dal, rice, panir jalfrazi simple dishes, still £28, when we tasted the food it was so bland and flavourless, paper would have tasted better, food was horrible, straight in the bin. We called the restaurant immediately, and demanded an explanation, we were assured that this was error and told it would not happen again and to keep us happy we could get a complementary meal next time we order.
so a few weeks later we thought give another try, this time i let them surprise me and the owners son recommended lamb dopeaza and chicken tikka massala, we went with that, the food eventually arrived just after 1hr, nan cold and soggy, popadom soft and non crispy, the lamb was very chewy and hard, and the chicken looked like it had been boiled and chucked into a sauce, having called the owner, i was told that the lamb was in fact mutton and always has been although i was told that I'm getting lamb. I was told that they were very busy and no body complains and they have lots of regular customers, i would argue that the food even second time around was sub standard, never eat or order there again even if it was free, as for the price complete rip off, (next time you order lamb please check that its not mutton, and it is lamb, mutton quarter the price)
