Fantastic restaurant. Been many times with the family are going again soon with work colleague's. In regards to rice and chips, that is the way we do it in Portugal. There are always alternatives.
I love Fridays, as they do have karaoke and dancing for those that are in the mood.
Staff is friendly and always happy to help.
The owners are really nice and friendly

This place has the best food in town and at a reasonable price.
The food is delicious and really is a gem in the area .
The place is not big and it gets busy so book ahead but the ambience is great .
I have been here loads of times and is always a great place to take someone from out of town .

Great place for food or just to sit down for a coffee/drink.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
It can get pretty full on the weekend so wise to book ahead.

Good value for money, one of my favourite spots

A chance find on Leyton High Road, but the promise of the menu in the window was increased by going inside..... great choice of seafood (particularly liked the Mar y carne or whatever the steak with seafood was called - delicious!). Friendly service, frequented by Portuguese-speaking families. I agree with comments that rice and chips together are too many carbs (perhaps a Portuguese custom though?). Two of us requested our meals without rice or chips, and I got boiled broccoli and carrot, another person had salad - both excellent. The third person had potatoes and they were very good too!
Will definitely go back - lots of dishes we want to try!

This is, as stated by the majority the best restaurant in Leyton!. As for your comment from 'Thettruth' that is an utter joke and simple lie. You must be a very lonley and boring person to make up such rubbish. The customers and staff are NOT rude but extremely friendly. It is visited by families on regular basis and DOESN'T sell alcohol past the hour!. You are obviously a grumpy neighbour who does nothing but moan.
The cutsomers are not drunk...but if you visit a bar logically there will be alcohol consumption. LIVE MUSIC usually means noise if you want peace and quiet go to bed!.
Everybody has positive comments, the food is marvellous, everybody is friendly and the service is great!.
NO restaurant is perfect but if you have a problem with being near a restauirant that has a licence untill late, entertainment you should reconsider moving house rather than slandering the restaurants name.

I satrongly reccommend Oceano Early weeknd evenings for a quiet dinner and weekends are livlier and frequented by families, portuguese and English clients.

I have been living in Leyton for the past 10 years and i have not seen or have been to a better restaurant in this location ever before, simply because it has never excisted a better restaurant in this area. I go there every weekend with my family and i have no complaints to make. The food is the best, the service is great and i love the atmosphere. I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food and likes to enjoy their meal listening to good music in a good environment... it can be a bit noisy when its full because everyone is talking at the same time over the music but then again it is to be expected which ever place you go where there's live music playing... To resume my review... I believe who ever doesn't recommend this restaurant simply hasn't tasted quality food and/or don't know how to enjoy theirselfs...

The noise coming from this restaurant is unbelievable! Loud music, staff and customers shouting all the time, forget to book a table over the phone! All members of staff smoke and since there is not back garden you can see them smoking in front of the restaurant windows. The customers are very often drunk and loud and show no sign of respect for the neighbours. They are rude and selfish. Both staff and customers. Certainly not a family place if you have kids. Neighbours tell me they alerted the authorities for anti-social behaviour, apparently they sell alcohol beyond closing time. Late night shouting and drunkenness affect the neighbourhood day-in day-out. Avoid like the plague!

we havent been there since there since they had to redcor since the fire and it was as good as ever, the only critisim is why they have to serve chips and rice together( to much carbs) but the meat is to die for. welcome back
