Mai Sushi is in my opinion the best place for sushi in london. It is so fresh and delicious and you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for it. At the same time it is not as cheap as other restaurants that serve sushi but the quality of what you get served is what makes it so reasonable.

It is a small restaurant which is often full with Japanese diners (a testament to the fact this restaurant serves beautiful Japanese food), single diners and my personal group of friends who are frequent this establishment. We often order 5-7 plates of 'crunchy tuna' in a sitting. You must try this is if you haven't already!

It is a very small restaurant so there is a slightly slower service in comparison to other London restaurants. However it is wonderful to dine in a restaurant in London where for once you do not have waiters hovering over your table waiting for you to leave so they can fit in their next group. You can actually take time to savour your food (which is put together with such care and precision)and enjoy the company at your table.

If you're looking for plush surroundings that creates a buzzing atmosphere often found in London restaurants then it's best not to go here. However if you want authentic and fresh Japanese food that never dissapoints then come here. I couldn't speak of it highly enough!

I am going there now regularly whenever I want to meet someone for a quiet conversation and for some really good and healthy food. The place is very sweet, staff is very polite and accomodating and it feels a bit like being with family. Last time they let us stay way after closing time, as they were just having dinner and were fine for us to stay longer. The food is very tasty, the ice creams are superb (Ginger, green tea, red bean flavours!) and if you are vegetarian you will love all the tofu dishes.

I went there at least once a week, since my friend really likes sushi.. The sushi roll that I like are crunchy tuna and this new sushi roll ( Chris' roll, since they havent got the name for it yet). Yaki soba and chicken teriyaki is good. For starters, try chicken/pork breadcrumbs, agedashi tofu or prawn tempura. Then for finishing off, tempura icecream is highly recommended.

Hi

We visited Mai Sushi restaurant last night and to our suprise this small, clean, calm atmostphere is a hidden gem. Very simple decor but the food is fantastically delious. The fresh raw fish just melted in your mouth and the sushi rolls so fresh that we ended up ordering more and more. We finished off with the Tempura ice cream, it was unbelievable good. I've been to many Japanese in London but this one is the best with a unbeatable price. Also the service is friendly and attentive and helpful. You feel special with a small bill. So keep up the good work Mai Sushi.
