Extremely charming, if quirky, little restauranchik. The staff are very 'no-nonsense' and this makes the whole experience more canteen than romantic dining experience. However, the cute quirky nature of the place, especially the menu, makes a visit worth your time. The menu is basic Polish food (I did not venture near the Mexican) but very appetising and quite nice. For the area - Mayfair - it is reasonable, but for standard Polish food it would probably be a little pricey if located anywhere else. I would certainly recommend a vist. For the experience alone. I rate any restaurant that tries a Mexican-Polish combination like this. And with a French name.

We walked by this place earlier in the day and decided the combination of Polish and Mexican was intersting enough. We stopped back later that evening and decided to give it a go..and we are certainly glad we did. For starters, I had the Nachos which were delcious and may partner had the black mushrooms in garlic sauce. Both were winners. For the entree, I had the Perogis which were fabulous and may partner had the Golubki..which was amazing. The place was charming and intimate, the prices were good and the place was packed. This was one of the best meals we had in London. Keep up the good work and we hopefully will retun soon! Thanks for the great meal!!

I've been to l'Autre a few times, including last night. I enjoy the quirkiness of the Polish / Mexican mix. There's bound to be something for everyone, and the generous portions of hearty food ensure no one goes hungry. I prefer the Polish specialties - nowhere else I go serves pierogies and borscht - while the Mexican (more Tex-Mex really) standards represent solid comfort food. Service has always been acceptable - no bowing and scraping for sure, but no delay to get another drink. The atmosphere in the dining room is very good; not too crowded, and doesn't get noisy. I haven't sat downstairs and would probably avoid that.
