My favourite restaurant at the moment - I love Portuguese food (I spend most of my time in Portugal), and I speak Portuguese adequately, so for me it feels as though I've come home - there is nothing whatever about the place to make me feel I'm still earning a crust in London. Food excellent, service excellent, atmosphere wonderful, prices reasonable what's not to like? Oh yes, looking at the one negative review, food not piping hot. Indeed, that's not something the Portuguese are noted for. If you insist on piping hot food you might prefer somewhere else. If that isn't a huge priority, you'll love A Toca. I'll be going back, and soon.

I think you are just being mean for no reason. I have been to that place many times and always had the best service, best food and very good time ! Not sure you are talking about the same place or maybe you should go back

A trip to A Toca is like a journey to somewhere else. Step off the Wandsworth Road, and out of a chilly January night and be taken instantly and magically away from London, to Portugal.

Charming and willing staff with big smiles serve delicious food promptly. The football match on the widescreen in the corner and the old codger quaffing brandies propping up the bar. The unlikely couple of a middle aged biker and bleach blonde posh bird in a mink coat, laughing loudly and drinking too much. The table of Japanese tourists talking zen to the dozen. There is an element of theatre here. I would recommend it to anyone with a heart who likes good food and wants to escape from London for a few hours.

Absolutely wonderful little place! does the most amazing food, very fresh and you get extremely generous servings. the staff are polite and welcoming. For groups of more than 2, you will need to book as it's a very popular place. I travel from kent to come here with friends! worth a visit!
Reasonably priced too!

This is a very charming place for dinner. I've been three times and only booked the time I went with 8. They have fitted us in each time. The atmosphere is lively, often their are wizerned Portugese getting super excited watching their team on th elarge screen. The food is very good value and very good quality. I have grilled chicken or steak and am always happy withthe complimentary olives, cheese and bread for starter and rice, salad and chips that come with the main. If you are a fan of being filled up nicely by your meal, then you won't complain here. Another nice little tip is the homemade creme caremel they have for dessert, much better than the ready made stuff on the dessert menu. Also reccomend the super bock beers as the drink of choice!
