Every time I visit London,I MUST have at least one meal at Halepi.It was by accident that I had lunch there.About 14 years ago while strolling in Bayswater area,my two other friends suggested that we try the Greek restaurant right in front of us.We simply enjoyed the young lamb or the milk lamb.Those have always been my choice every time I visit the restaurant.I have recomended not only the restaurant but also what to order from Halepi to many Malaysian friends and some are VIPs.Although the decor has not changed much since the years But the lambs are worth having.For the past 14years I have been going to Halepi every time I go to London and I will keep going there for your lamb.Keep it up because I know that a lot of VIPs from Malaysia and Brunei visit your restaurant.Your popularity is increasing daily.

After many years of wonderful meals at Halepi we were shocked at the change when we returned for dinner at 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 12, 2010.
 the pita was hard and stale;
 the hummus was watery and tasteless;
 the potatoes with the klefticon were cold;
 the mousaka was thin, the béchamel lumpy and the lamb unspiced;
 our waiter, one of five, was brusque and officious;
 our wine was slopped into the glasses as fast as possible;
 the male waiters argued among themselves about who was the manager;
 the female bartender told them to shut up;
 one waiter decided to go home, put on his coat, and left;
 one member of the kitchen staff gathered up his tools and walked out.
We left shortly afterwards and will never return. Too bad – Halepi WAS a great place to eat. Obviously something happened to change that but there are too many great restaurants in London to mourn over one that went sour.

Average kebab place. Highly overpriced. The food was ok, not more than that, but with prices of a good restaurant. The most terrible thing was that we've been asked to leave right after we finished our coffee and were chatting with friends - no apologies and very rudely. They said there's a mother with a baby waiting and they had the table reserved - but there were other tables empty and noone was actually waiting around. Never ever we will go there again.

From a California Girl: Loved this place. Wonderful neighborhood gem. Yes the seating is a bit tight, but that is part of the charm. The food was flavorful and plentiful. Thank you.

In March 1977 I had my first magical date here with my lovely wife Annette who tragically passed away in 2003. We spent many happy times in Halepi.The food was always great, as was the atmosphere. In 2003 I returned on a pilgrimage to remember that first date and to my surprise Madame Chloe and son were still there.I relived that first date as they looked after me so well.With great kindneess .Since this time whenever I am in London I come to this haven of consistency in great Greek food ,friendliness and atmosphere. Halepi is a place that has that special buzz. Tomorrow 17th I am returning for a new beginning, after much pain, with a beautiful Lady and I will be in good hands here.Thanks

Several weeks ago, in November, we booked a table for a pre-Chrismtas meal at Halepi for five people. We telephoned the day before to confirm our booking. When we arrived, on time, there was no table set for five. We were shown to a table for four, and other diners were asked to move up so that an extra chair could be put at the end of the table. The table was small, and would have barely accommodated four people. When we complained, the waiter shrugged and made no effort to solve the problem. He could have admitted that they had made a mistake and offered us a drink while we waited for a table. Instead, he and his colleagues were rude and unhelpful. We left and will not return.

we have made halepi a destination restaurant when coming from across the pond. The original owners son is now overseeing the show. Food is authentic and consistently good with an offering of reasonable wines. Yes, it can be a bit noisy but this then adds to the atmosphere. If you want a romantic candle-lit place go elsewhere.

Halepi was an absolute disappointment. Don't bother to go there. There are thousands of places in London. Why bother and go to a bad one?
The owner brought us the bill without us having asked for it, 1:30 hours after we got there. It seems some guys were waiting for our table, which we had booked in advance. Nothing had been mentioned at the time of booking for time limitations. If they had done so, we'd have turned them down.
The owner asked us to leave. It was absolutely offensive. We had invited friends for dinner and we felt absolutely disgraced.
They simply don't value their customers. It was our last time there. We really hope you will avoid this place. They deserve a lesson.
