Hélène Darroze’s restaurant at the luxurious Connaught hotel in Mayfair has two Michelin stars. She replaced Angela Hartnett here, who then went on to open her first restaurant, Murano. Darroze runs a restaurant in Paris too, also Michelin starred. Having trained under Alain Ducasse, she is something of a superstar in France, where she was awarded the French Legion of Honour by Nicolas Sarkozy in 2012.
Darroze is from Landes in south west France and her menu takes inspiration from this region. A meal here is extravagant and the dining room is very formal (trainers are not permitted and it is preferred if men wear a jacket) but you can expect a five star experience.
