This is probably one of the biggest non-event meals of the century. I went to Indali on Saturday 12th March 2011 at about 8pm.

I thought I had ordered a hot vegetable starter with yoghurt on the side - what turned up was freezing cold tasteless vegetables covered in thick yoghurt in a cereal sized bowl - it was revolting, which of course I gave back to the waiting staff. No where on the menu did it say that it was a cold dish. It was a cold and wet Spring evening - who on earth would order a cold yoghurt starter by choice!

When the main meal finally arrived it was virtually tasteless - Indian food needs a small element of fat for all sorts of reasons, it doesn't need to be swimming in it, but it does need it for taste - the main meal was so boring, I couldn't wait to get out of there, get home, and cook, as we were starving. My dining partner had a horrible looking fried crab which was most unappealing to look at; the taste wasn't that much better either.

I am a very seasoned diner, especially of Indian food and have owned my own restaurant in the past, so feel especially knowledgeable about atmosphere, client service and quality of food.

The staff are perfectly nice, if totally forgettable because of their lack of personality, the food was dire; the room was beautiful though, but had zero atmosphere.

My recommendation would be "don't go there".

Indali impressed me because it is rare to find an indian restaurant which does tasty food without making it too oily! The spices and oil were not over the top, the atmosphere is good and service excellent!
