I think this place has great atmosphere. Good affordable food. Quick service. This is one of the few places on Northcote Road that I go back to. It's always busy which is a sign of a successful restaurant that's well worth a visit.

Went here with some friends on Friday. Service was dreadful (we had to ask for our bill 4 times, before we actually just ended up walking up to the register), food was average at best, and to top it all, I found some sort of mite in my seafood linguini (which the waiter tried to convince me was normal when you order mussels!!) One of the worst restaurants Ive ever been to Im afraid to say.

We are regular Buona Sera customers, since it opened as a tiny restaurant in the early 80s. Always great. Fantastic, friendly staff. Nice food. Last Thursday was no exception: great pizza, lovely seafood pasta, friendly service and a very good value bill. That's why we eat there at least once a week.

My partner and I went here yesterday night, as we've heard good reviews, and always packed out everynight. We ordered the Bruscetta which came out with burnt bread, old tomatoes, tiny bit of basil and plenty of spring onions, which we didnt find very italian. It came on a mass of bed of salad which was quite filling.
I had the meatballs which the sauce was orange and tasted like it came from a can, mushrooms were tinned, and meatballs dry. My partner had the seabass which came out whole (did not say it was whole)and tasted like it was frozen. Much to our regret we tried the apple pie and cheesecake for dessert which we predicted it was shop bought which we were right. The cheese cake was old and slimey, and the apple pie was microwaved. With 2 glasses of wine the bill came to £60 which we were not pleased with and certainly wont come back again.

If it's as good as it was 10 years ago, Buona Serra is one of my favourite Italian restaurants of all time. Watch this space, I'm returning from the Middle East in early December to revisit this little gem.

The previous review is rubbish an unfortunate experience from a single customer. I looked up the restaurant to get the address and discovered this rather scathing review. I was meeting 10 friends in the restaurant and had to travel from Hackney to get there, I was not looking forward to the experience. However the restaurant was fine, fun and great food. The service was quick and attentive despite a full restaurant. The menu is basic Italian but fine and cheap. The restaurant is open plan and airy, Id recommend it.
