Fast friendly service, didn't have long to wait to have my order taken or get served. Great food and great prices, considering its in trending Islington!!

Food is brilliant for what you pay however, you have to make sure you book Thursday to Sunday for dinner. Menu is small but plenty of choise for all. Would recommend the duck breast or the pork belly. Service is very quick however, sometimes (this has happened to me twice so far) the side selection of vegetables can be cold. Ask them to reheat - no problem.

I have been here about 10 times plus. Nice place if you are unsure of where to eat on upper street.

By offering a relatively small range of dishes that has barely changed at least since I have been going, Le Mercury is able to offer fine French dining for the kind of fee that you would usually expect to pay in a lower end chain resteraunt.

Spanning three floors in this dilightful period building, the resteraunt is always bustling. The service is not overly attentive but that is because the priority is good food at a reasonable price rather than fussy pandering.

Try to book in advance if possible as it gets busy

This is one of the higher class restaurants in N1, but definately not in the top ten. I ordered a steak and asked for it without the sauce. Waited an hour, because they forgot to put the order in. When it did arrive, it was nicely cooked, but was slathered in the sauce i'd requested not to have. They didn't offer a discount or anything more than a flippant apology for the mess up. I would say there are much better, cheaper places to go along Upper Street than this place.
