The concept of Bel Canto is to synthesise the worlds of Grand Opera and fine dining: a marriage of passions made in heaven, a unique blend of culinary and musical artistry. Both fine food and opera singing demand the highest standards of excellence and meticulous attention to detail to ensure the most exquisite of sensations for taste buds and ears alike.
In the early 1990s, Bel Canto's founders came up with the idea of providing the thrill of live opera in a relaxed fine-dining venue a feast for all the senses. Once the concept had been worked out, and the singers auditioned and recruited, the first Bel Canto restaurant opened on the banks of the Seine River near Paris City Hall in 2000, followed by Neuilly in 2004, and London in 2008.
Today, Bel Canto has a team of 50 singers and 10 pianists who will provide you with a magical dining experience. The outstanding vocal qualities of the singers who perform in Bel Canto restaurants is acknowledged by opera experts everywhere. The magic is recreated each evening as diners gather at our restaurants to be served fine cuisine and fine music by our waiter/singers. Between dishes, the opera stars of tomorrow perform some of great operatic classics from Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Bizet and many more. The thrill is heightened by the pleasure of exquisite gastronomy, for a truly unique experience.
