Seriously this bar is amazing! If you want to be entertained by great music and served by happy an attentive staff go to The Islington!

I had my birthday party here last week and everyone loved it! From the imported beer selection we chose to hit the Anchor Steam's all night (I am a SF native).

The bathrooms are immaculate and if you ask the bar staff they will offer a complimentary coat check.

Recommended!

I'd definitely recommend the Islington to anyone in London that loves live music. They have such a great lineup and we have already seen Foo fighters, which was absolutely out of this world! Always have a great time.

had the best time at the Islinton seeing one of my favourite bands. Every time I come here I really enjoy it. The venue itself is well placed in Angel and the feel is awesome too. I am coming back to see Honehoney in December and can't wait. Check it out!

Went back for a second visit and this place is spot on. Extremely warm, charming but sleek/cool too.

Drinks were excellent. Service was very quick. The people behind this have a first class aesthetic.

Will definitely be coming back here for a long time to come.

Excellent addition to Islington.

I bookmarked The Islington a couple months ago when they were mentioned in Time Out magazine for the Yasmine Hamdan show - but only got to sample the drinks last night. Their bar is beautiful, the lighting is perfect and bathroom spotless (cool candles!).

The bar had plenty of men and women manning it so you will get served in no time. Beware these £7 cocktails pack a punch:
I got the "Negroni" with Hendricks Gin, Campari, Carpano, Antica, Grapefruit Bitters ~ very bitter but very good!!

Will definitely be going back to try the pizzas!

My "go to" spot when having drinks with friends. ambience , service, and value are all top notch at The Islington.

The cocktails are consistently excellent and although it's a somewhat "hotspot" there is no attitude here, love that.

On a recent night out with a friend we were able to linger over our drinks at the bar without the bar staff nudging "want another round?" ....I respect that!

I've been here eight times before writing this review. Go and try it.

A hidden gem of sorts; bang in the centre of Angel whilst still managing to slip away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, The Islington manages to strike a perfect balance between homely comfort and chic.

Music is the order of the day; a beautiful stage occupies a corner of the room without invading the place - you can get up close to the performers at the candlelit tables, or stand by the bar, or sit further back whilst enjoying the selection of food on offer.

Such nice individual touches make this place a different night out than a trip to the pub.

The bohemian feel to the place with its velvet curtains, manor house armchairs and friendly staff all frame a fantastic music venue.

The music room is intimate and the acoustics are surprisingly good.

Does Brooklyn beer on draft also! And Goose in bottles.

Go!

This is meant to be a free entry location but you are made to pay £4 for the use of the cloakroom for coats & bags etc. I was only wearing a cardigan which I had no intention of taking off but wasn't allowed in unless I paid! I suggest they make a charge for the cloakroom at the cloakroom not on entry to the building.

The Islington is a gem and one of my favourite places in Angel. The bar has a very pleasant décor and is very comfortable with a good selection of drinks. I recently had a party at the venue for which the manager kindly reserved an area and we were very well looked after by his friendly staff. Go check it out, it's well worth a visit.
