Chipotle Mexican Grill is opening its sixth restaurant in London – and its first in south London - at 40 Wimbledon Hill Road on Tuesday, 5th February 2013.
Chipotle in Wimbledon boasts a large landscaped outdoor dining terrace and features a distinctly focused menu of burritos, tacos, burrito bowls (a burrito without a tortilla) and salads. The Chipotle service format allows customers to decide exactly what goes into their individual order; there are more than 60,000 possible combinations.
In 2012 Chipotle was recognised by Compassion in World Farming at the annual Good Animal Welfare Awards and was awarded a Good Chicken Award and a Good Pig Award. Chipotle has been praised for its ‘Food with Integrity’ approach to the sourcing of its raw ingredients but in particular for its commitment to using free range pigs for its pork carnitas and RSPCA Freedom Food certified poultry for its chicken dishes.

Being a California native I was thrilled to see a chipotle open up just down the road from my flat. I have become accustomed to Tortilla, a Mexican grill with the exact same concept of Chipotle. I went into chipotle today for lunch. I got my usual a vegetarian burrito bowl and some chips and guacamole. It came to £8.80. Not only is that expensive for fast food, but it wasn't even as good as Tortilla. I suggest they either reevaluate their prices or look at adding some more flavour to the food to make it worth the high price they are charging.
