We had our work Christmas Party at Gallery Rendezvous last Thursday. There were 60 of us and none of us could believe the set up they gave us. We booked a private party with the set menu and was told we would get a private room. Instead we were put in the downstairs main restaurant, we had no dinner tables set up and the food was brought out and put on two very small round tables where everyone was expected to help themselves and eat standing up. The food was awful, there was no way near enough for 60 of us and didn’t come out until 9.30pm (we got there at 7.30pm)as we were downstairs, all the upstairs parties kept having to walk past us every five minutes to go out and have a cigarette, the door didn’t shut properly, so was permanently left open and giving the current weather conditions, we were all freezing, literally standing around with our coats on. The Karaoke (if you could call it that) was rubbish, it was set on ABBA playing on repeat and there was no book or list to show what songs could be sung? The Karaoke machine then broke at about 11pm and we were left with no music? The drinks menu was clear on the internet and seemed very reasonable, but the miserable guy on the bar, just made prices up as he went along, some paying £12 for a bottle of house wine and some paying £18? He didn’t even have a cash machine and was just throwing money into an ice bucket? No-one could believe how completely naff the place was and it was quite literally the most rubbish Christmas party EVER! Luckily we all have sense of humours and just laughed about it on the night, but it really was a joke.. The staff there were clearly money grabbing and although obviously couldn’t accommodate us, decided to squeeze us in anyway!! Just double check what you are getting if you do decide to book, as this was not what we paid for!!

A great place to go if you're looking for a cosy venue for a small-medium sized gathering! i've only ever experienced the karaoke there many times at various friends' birthdays, and i've always had a great time! each time, my friends' have hired out a room with karaoke in it, and a bar next to the room so its easy to get drinks whilst having fun singing away! the best bit is that you can also get a chinese buffet served in the karaoke room - so food, drink and entertainment all in the same room (or v.close proximity)!
