The American food thing is getting a bit passé in London now, but Porky’s specifically concentrates on Memphis-style barbecue. I’ve never heard of that, but its taste damn good!
The pulled pork is a really good-sized portion and beautifully smokey. Cheekily they charge extra for a bun to go with it, but all the mains come with sharply pickled beetroot. The ribs were absolutely huge and great value. We felt they could have been a bit more tender though. For sides we had really nicely-spiced spinach and sweet potato fries. These were a bit mean on the portion size – go for the potato fries.
Meaty ribs and rib tips, homemade BBQ sauce, juicy burgers, whole smoked chickens, and pulled pork that’s been cooked low and slow (for over 16 hours) in smokers imported from Oklahoma.
