Originally only a wine cellar named Gergovie Wines selling wines from a handful of exclusive wine growers who shy away from the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides in favour of allowing the vines and grapes to grow and develop as nature intended them to. The popularity of the wines brought about the opening of 40 Maltby Street where customers could buy and also try wines at the downstairs bar. The set-up has expanded further by popular demand, with the more recent opening of the 40 Maltby Street kitchen providing fabulous food to their wine-lovers (and their teetotalers alike!)

The kitchen serves food made with the same consideration as their winemakers make with their wine. The menu changes through the week and reflects the seasonality of our island and its proximity to the continent.
