Went for a friends birthday and had an awful time. The service was terrible with one waiter chewing gum loadly while serving. The small music selection was on a constant loop so we heard the same record around 12 times. Vegetarian main courses were minimal and food was overpriced and low quality.

I've been using City Spice for a couple of years now, as a takeaway and somewhere I take friends for a sit down. Staff are friendly and welcoming, food is very good quality and prices are reasonably cheap for the City. Chicken Rezzalla hits the spot for something spicy and they do the standards like Madras and Dhansak very well. Thoroughly recommend the place for a good curry without pretence.

Went for early diner last night (12/3/09) six of us and thought that the meal was probably the MOST bland meal I have ever eaten !! Our dishes included Saag prawn (bland), Lamb Roghan, Chiken Tikka Masala (looked radio active in colour and far too sweet) Tarka Dal (was like dish water!) When we rejected the Tarka Dal I asked the waiter to try it and he flatly refused the replacement dish was not much better. If they can't get this dish right it doers not say much for the rest of the menu. Very disappointing visit which has prompted me to write this. Places like this have, for too long, been getting away with serving sub standard food.

I had thought that spice in the name would be indicative of tasty food. I'm sorry to say that the Tarka Dhal was soup-like in consistency and bland. The Saag Paneer was sweet and tasted only of coconut. The service was first rate, but I cannot recommend the vegetarian food.
