Had dinner here on Tuesday after being recommended. The food was good and they were efficient but they brought us the wrong food and I was not impressed with the way they handled it.
On taking our order the waiter seemed to not even be looking at us.
My friend ordered the hummous and falafal and they brought my mousaka and a different dish. I was given the mousaka and on taking a mouthful realised it was not the vegetarian one I had ordered. I informed them of this and they made it out it was my fault and that they had brought two mousakas over and I had chosen the wrong one. I'm not sure how I was supposed to realise which one was vegetarian...
The waiter who we spoke to was not at all apologetic.
I would recommend and/or go back because the food was cheap and pretty good but I wouldn't recommend it for customer service.

Took my Mum for lunch there yesterday. Food was good but not great and was not warm enough. Value for money was okay. Staff were quite sombre.I would not go back there.

This restaurant is a little diamond in the west end. I would recommend it to everybody that is in town. The food is good , the service quick and efficient and the price is amazing - £10.90 for 3 courses. The wine is not too expensive either. Once you have discovered Bistro you will return time after time.

My second visit and most certainly not my last. A fantastic choice of delicious dishes throughout the menu and under a tenner for 3 courses. The staff are attentive but not obtrusive and service is quick. Will certainly be recommending it.

We were recommended to eat here by a very shrewd character who has eaten in many restaurantss and is critical of most. We were not disappointed - great atmoshere - tasty extensive menu at affordable prices. Service is quick and friendly. Great pre theatre venue.

Bisto 1 is fantastic value for money. We always head straight there if we're in Covent Garden and even if you have to wait for a table it's never for very long. The food, service and atmosphere is great and as soon as you sit down at a table there's free bread and olives. The menu gives penty of choices and the food never takes very long to arrive. I can't recommend this place highly enough and try their stuffed apricots they're yummy.

We have lunched at Bistro 1 several times - always in decent weather so sitting outside - it has been consistently excellent and good value for money - one of those places you dread will be replaced by a Starbucks (spit and make the sign) or worse on your next visit. The service is unostentatious but professional - people who know they are good at what they do and don't need to show off. One bonus since we first went is that Southampton Street is now a cul-de-sac and traffic noise and fumes are much reduced.

I have eaten at the Bistro many times and always enjoyed it even though it is a bit crowded.
There is an amazing choice on the menu and the price is very reasonable.
My only gripe is that I don't like my rice cooked in butter so I have to eat chips

We, as a group of friends, visit London once a year, at christmas, and have been doing so for the last 3 years, and the only place we go to eat, and our first port of call is Bistro 1 on Southampton Street, Cvnt Gdn.
It is very busy, so book early. Why so busy? Because you can get 3 course meal for under £10, can't be beaten, and the food is good quality as well, not what I initially expected for under a tenner.
Young or slightly more mature, it caters for all ages.
The atmosphere is intimate, which leads to a small negative, that being, it is slightly cramped!! But, for a central London location, with good food, at under a tenner, and good service, we forgive the lack of room. We'll b

Probably best for a younger crowd, this place is great value but gets pretty busy, and is popular with young tourists. Outstanding value on decent food, although the choice ain't vast. Somewhere many people visit again and again I think. 3 courses for under a tenner, can't argue with that!
