I am so surprised by these reviews (I guess some are quite old!). I have been to Bayee a few times and each time had a fantastic time. The food is really flavoursome and not a disappointing dish amongst them (I went in groups of 5+ each time so we had a lot of different dishes). The portion sizes are good and prices reasonable.

They do get very busy on a Saturday but I ahve always found the service friendly and helpful. I look forward to going back soon!

I have been 3 times now and have never been disappointed.
I strongly recommend the soft shell crab.
They had an Abba & Frank Sinatra night which was great entertainment.
The place has been refurbished to a high standard, modern & clean.
All staff very friendly. Would recommend this place to everyone.

I will never go back to Bayee and would not recommend it to anyone.

The food is average, pretty basic and the same kind of quality you would get from any Chinese take away place, so not fantastic. If you are usually easy about your food then you would think of it as okay. I don't but this is my personal taste.

The plates, glasses and crockery where clean, so was the general environment in the restaurant. So no complains on that. The decor is quite nice too.

The service is absolutely awful. The staff has not been trained properly and struggles to cope (I went on a busy night) with demand. The manager even called one of our group 'bruv' which clearly is not on. That same manager treats his staff with no respect, right in front of the customer, stressing them and shouting at them. This is the main reason why I will never go back to this place.

To conclude, there are better places in Wimbledon for food, including oriental food, and this place is not recommendable at all.

This is my local and even though the food is generally reasonable they really need to work on their service. I have been 5 or 6 times and each time have had to wait for food and drink orders for up to 60 minutes - in a restaurant with one or two occupied tables? Most recently arriving upon opening time I asked if they were open and was told they were but it would be a 30 minute wait for them to 'clean' up? We were the only table there? I replied this seemed like a long time and they had opened and the waitress replied with a shrug repeatingn 30 minutes?(we were there for a business lunch hence didn't have time to wait for 30 mins)If you don't mind service then the food is decent but if you aren't craving chinese I would recommend the numerous other better restaurants nearby such as Lydons? or Cincillos?

Had a fantastic evening at the Bayee - the decor is absolutely stunning and the prices reasonable, and the food was delicious - can highly recommend the duck with lychees and green pepper, as well as the satay chicken - excellent! They also have lunch time and evening set menu's, which were around £20 for the evening set menu, but it was extensive and no one would go hungry! The Bayee is definitely a firm favourite of mine!
