If you're out on the town and in the mood for a Ruby then be sure to refer to our list of London's best.

Situated slap bang in London curry-lover’s district, Aladin has collected acclaim from the most unlikely of fans. First up, us. We had the chicken biryani and a dahl fry and we almost collapsed under its awesomeness. The BBC have also been banging on about this being ‘one of the world’s best curry houses’ for yonks – which is, let’s face it, a bold statement, while Capital FM even got in on the act saying it was ‘One of the Top 10 Indian restaurants in London ever’. Even HRH Prince Charles has mentioned his fondness for this cuzza. So you should probably book your table ASAP.

Can you take the heat?

The notorious phall curry is so intense there have been reports in the media of people crying, hallucinating and even being rushed to hospital after eating it. Made with naga chillies, you won’t find phall in India as it’s a western creation which is more of a competitive sport than a culinary experience, but if you fancy trying it head to Brick Lane’s Aladin.

I been living on Brick Lane for about 30 years now and funnily enough I don't normally like curry. However my friends from Asia came over for a visit and they really wanted a curry so they could compare it to the curries they get back home. So we decided to walk along brick lane centre of indian and Bangladeshi food to find a slap up curry. Eventually we came across Aladin. It was amazing. It totally made me love curry and I have decided to make it a monthly thing. The staffs especially Bodz and Manna were really welcoming and charming which made the vibe really fun. I would recommend the sizzling dishes as well as the chicken moducash, Thank you Aladin :)

I went to Aladin with a group of friends and simply loved it. The curry is great, I loved the Tikka Masala and all my mates also enjoyed their dishes. The service was dazzling and the price was even better. Overal a fantastic place for good curry at a great price with the top level of service around that area...

Food was ok nothing like in Asia though :( but very bad service, actually the worst!Waiters possibly drunk were rather too "informal"brought the food to the table and scattered it everywhere,I don't think anybody ate what they ordered. The bill was really excessive,£20 average each person,we ordered one main, about £8,1 rice £3, and some starter. We brought our own drinks from outside.Def a scam,I realized the next day they robbed us.NOT RECOMMENDABLE!

I was truly amazed when I went to Aladin. The decor is great red on red, looks very romantic. The atmosphere is vibrant but at the same time serene. It is a great social place not only can you go to Aladin for a romantic meal for two but you can go with your family and friends. The service was excellent and I told one of the waiters that it was my 1st anniversary so he tried to make it extra special for the two of us. The waiters are very friendly. The food was astonishing. I have not tasted curry as good as that. The flavours just burst in your mouth leaving a sensational feeling, hats off to the chef. It certainly will be my regular now.

Great service, very lively. 16 of us dined at the restaurant. Staff were serving each 1 of us with a great smile, even though the restaurant was nearly fully packed on a Wednesday evening. Currys brilliant without a doubt, much better than other curries on the street. Definately recommended. 5*.

What was that?!
They ruined my day, the curries were awful and the place was dirty!
The cutlery was not cleaned properly and the bill was so expensive!
My friends also dined here before, and they hated it, so I though I'd give it a try but that was a bad idea.
This was by far the worst dine that I've had in ages, the staff were polite but the service was appalling. The food took so long to come and it was cold by the time that I'd received it, not good. Sorry guys, this was definitely a mega thumbs down from me!

Aladin quote: the best of brick lane, well in my opinion it certainly is the best of brick lane. Having been to most the curry houses on the famous curry mile this one certainly breaks free from the norm of your traditional curry houses. The food is simply fantastic and full of flavours, The service was charming with wonderful waiters. The atmosphere was lively. Overall a great experience was had by all and my girlfriend will certainly remember her 25th birthday for a very long time. happy birthday zara.

Check the bill! Aladin seems to rely on their customers being either very trusting or drunk. We had to check our bill 3 times. The first time they didn't give us any breakdown, that I didn't even pick up on, but my friend asked them to give us a breakdown. Then we realised that some of their figures didn't match up to the ones given on the menu. After we pointed it out, they rectified the bill, but when I added up the numbers, they did not add up to the total! Then we found out they had added a discretionary 10% service charge, which still didn't add up (but was not much different to the real figure). In addition when you order poppadums, they charge £1 extra each person for the chutneys they give accompanying them. Plus the waiters were pretty sleazy and touchy-feely with the girls - although I guess you can take that in good humour. However, the food itself was tasty. And BYOB.

A fantastic experience. The restaurant was busy and very lively - which gave a great atmosphere from the outset. We were a large group, seated at the table in the corner (apparently where Prince Charles sat!). The staff were attentive but not pushy throughout and there were smiles all round! - An Australian friend even commented that this was the best service she had received in London! The menu is extensive but each dish was tasty and very fairly priced. Will definitely be back!

I went to Aladin with my family, as it was recommended to us via a friend. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was amazing. The service was tremendous. The waiters are extremely friendly. The food is the best Indian food I have ever tasted. We ordered a variety of dishes, every single one was spectacular. I highly recommend Aladin.

I went to the Aladins today because it was the only restaurant in Brick Lane not touting for custom. Most restaurants were either empty or atleast half empty at best but Aladins were almost full. A busy restaurant without a tout seemed to us as an indication of good food and so we decided to try it out. Upon entering the restaurant the whole atmosphere seemed amazing. it was obvious people were enjoying themselves as everyone had a smiley face. After being seated we were handed with the menu and a few minutes later we ordered our food. I ordered the Tandoori Butter Chicken and my husband ordered Haryali Chicken Masala, both were house special dishes. When the food arrived the aroma of the curry hit us right away and we started eating without delay. The dishes were amazing, even more amazing was the Peshwari Nan, it was the best nan I have ever tasted! both the Butter Chicken and Haryali Masala with Peshwari Nan were perfectly cooked and amazingly tasty. We left the place happy and relieved that we made the right decision in choosing this curry house. Highly recommend this to everyone.

Having boasted about the quality of the restaurants on Brick Lane I took my friends from Liverpool to eat at the Aladin. There are signs in the window which state that they accept all major cards. The service was extremely slow despite the restaurant being half empty. We were attending an event after our meal and by the time it arrived (20 minutes just for a starter of soup) we were worried about being late and had to rush the food, which was mediocre at best. When I tried to pay the bill the waiter told me that the card machine was broken (I don't know why I wasn’t told this before we sat down) and that I would have to go along the road to an ATM. I did that only to find that the ATM was broken. When I returned I explained that we would be late for an event and that I would send a cheque when I returned home. This was not acceptable and the waiter 'escorted' me further up the road to an ATM to withdraw the cash (for which I was charged). We literally had to run to our event. The visit to the Aladin spoilt our day out in London.

Aladin is the best in London not only is the food fabulous but the atmosphere is outstanding making it a great night out. I went in a group of 4; we ordered a variety of dishes after one bite we were blown away by the flavours of the dishes. I recommend Aladin to all you will not leave disappointed. Also the service is first class especially because of the friendly waiters. The decor is very romantic red on red. I rate Aladin 10 out of 10 on everything. Aladin will most certainly be my regular.

I loved it at Aladin. The food was out of this world. The flavours are just mouth-watering. Service and atmosphere is amazing. Aladin is something you do not expect in brick lane. I personally think it's the best in brick lane. I have been to majority of the restaurants in brick lane and so far none have compared to the quality of Aladin. It is also cheap and cheerful especially because its byo booze. I highly recommend it especially to all the curry lovers out there you will most definitely will not be disappointed.

Exceptional food backed with exceptional service (you hardly get both in Brick Lane) Aladin has it all. We went to The Aladins as a group of 12 and we loved it. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. The food was sizzling hot and the atmosphere just the way it has to be for a fun day out. And ofcourse the damage was little. Try it to believe it. Definetly be going back.
