Star Of India has Imperial Roman decor and has live piano playing upstairs. The combination of both gives this large and smart restaurant an authentic atmosphere. The imaginative menu includes many new dishes. Catering for private parties of up to 30 guests is available upon request and a take away menu is also provided.

Took a very important business friend to this casual anf friendly place. Asked for a mix of everything they would recommend - got a superb meal. Everything tasted really good and the service was friendly and comptetent. I love Indian and have tried the lot - this surprised me as a high quality experience throughout. Bring family or friends or business - all would find this a comfortable place to be. The place was packed so book in advance. The lamb and the fish cakes are excellent!

Trust me - I am picky.

I went to the Star of India for my anniversary with my partner and it was the best indian I have ever tasted. I must admit, the service wasnt great and the decor could do with a bit of updating but overall the atmosphere was good. The food was amazing, I had not heard of anything on the menu which was a bit daunting but when the food we dared to order came it was fantastic. The bill was quite high, £50 for 2 without wine but I think that it is well worth the money.

I would not recommend this restaurant and not surprisingly
it was almost empty when we ate there (7-9.30pm). The food
was very poor and the service was rough. Waiter tipped my rice onto the plate as if he was unloading a skip. Staff were unfriendly - hard to say which was worse, food or service. £20 for mainly bone and gravy, rice,
naan, small bowl raita. Plus £6.25 for a double whisky.
