This gem at the end of an otherwise unoriginal high street has top-quality South India fare, from dosas to proper South Indian coffee. The Mysore Masala Dosa is a must for those who enjoy a bit of spice. And don't forget to have the payasam for dessert. Lunch for two, including fresh juice was 20 quid - a perfect price to go with perfect food.

Very different to any other Indian I've ever been to; lots of dishes on the menu that I wanted to try but had never even heard of - and a very cheap meal too. It was good; my partner had a better meal than I did, but I think that was more to do with my choice and preference than anything from Sagar's point of view. I'll definitely be back to try some more...For two people, two courses and drinks, we paid well under £30.

the menu is so full of interesting and appetising dishes, many of which I'd never heard of, that it was impossible to chose. However our very charming and friendly waiter suggested a variety of dishes for our party of three which meant that we got a good taste of many of the house specialities. The food was delicious especially the giant dosas which were almost too beautiful to eat. A lovely relaxed atmosphere added to the whole experience

I ate at Sagar last night and it was the BEST Indian food I have ever eaten. The flavours were amazing. All food was beautifully presented and clearly freshly made. It was high quality food but really well priced. We ordered enough food to feed 4 people (although there was only 2 of us!) and with water, beer, 3 courses and wine we paid less than £50. we could easily have spent £10-£15 a head and been full of lovely food. The restaurant was very clean and light and there was a lovely atmosphere with nearly all the tables full on a Thursday night. The menu had classic dishes but also loads of intersting alternatives I have never tried. YOU MUST GO HERE. I'll be back very soon.
