Il Borgo

me and my wife were walking down gloster road for a romantic dinner when we saw a restrauant called il borgo we looked inside the mirror the place was packed so it must a special place we open the door and saw beautiful painting all around the walls plants hanging down from the seailings and soft italian music a man approached us with a delightful smile and gave us the best seat in the house and gave us a lovely decocourated menue after 3 minuits a young boy in uniform asked us for drinks we were shocked we asked him are you working here he said "yes sir" then my wife looked at me with a happy smile we diddent know about wine so he reccomended the best wine called nengresseo so we gave it a go then he gave us the wine it was amazing it was like we were in heven after a man 5 minuits later a man took our order we both ordered pizza americana and vegiteriana as we waited the young boy gracefully lit our candel making it very romantic for me and my wife as waited we smelt the mouthwatering italian food ariving to the coustomers it only took 6 min for our food to arrive we sat talking and eating our food and we didnt want to leave then the little boy arrived and asked us if we would like tea coffe or dessert we ordered two lemon chello when it came it was so delishous when we finished the boy asked us if wanted any thing else so we ordered two espressos we were amazed how quick it took when we finished we then asked for the bill when it came we were shocked it was less than the time we went to a restraunt in regant street we were so happy we left 5 pound tip for them........ thank you so much il borgo you gave us a fantastic time we are definetly comming back!!!!!!

Last Sunday we were looking forward to go for a nice pizza and as we walked into Il Borgo we should have just listened to our intuition and walked out, but we thought lets give it a try. A man served us but NO one little smile could come off his face. Then we ordered white wine which I send back as it tasted too acidic and he brought a glass from a new bottle but unfortunatly it tasted the same. Then came the Margarita Pizza and the risotto Vegetariano, really what a joke! The risotto was just heated and tasted so bad with little pieces of remelted cheese and vegetables were far to find.
We stood up and left the plates practically full and he charged u all which ok, charge half or so but to charge the full price really means you are struggling for clients.
What a pitty, wish we had gone for our first choice> ROCCA on old Brompton road! Fantastic.. take an example from them!

My son and I had a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere at this little Italian Restaurant...I would recommend and visit again.
