This restaurant must be the best family run Italian restaurant in central London. The staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is stunning. Especially good are the lamb shanks, the spaghetti frutti di mare, the "a la bebe" sauces, the calves liver and bacon. In fact I have never had a dud. 10 out of 10 for everything. I and my friends keep going back.

After show meal.. lovely atmosphere , packed ! However ordered rissoto which is usually creamy and fairly fluid. risotto came on a flat plate, dry bright yellow ? turmeric ? and small lumps of chicken. Ate little of it. A real Italian chef would not have served this up. Soooooo dissapointed, however enjoyed the wine. Back next winter to London, but wont be back to IL POSTO.

Cheap but not cheerful. When lights go down it is positively gloomy. Not much room on table for two. Even though place was largely empty we weren't offered a bigger table. Watch out for extra charges on the bill. I asked for bread when my pasta dish was served. They charged for 2 bread starters even though my companion was having pizza and made it very clear that she did not want any bread. Most of the bread was left in the basket. Makes you wonder if the reserve and recharge for the bread yet again. Food isn't bad but the semifreddo is much better at Pizza Express. OK at a pinch but wouldn't recommend it as a first choice.

Il posto is a very friendly family run retaurant. Excellent location if going to the Apollo Victora. The food was excellent, wine reasonably priced and nothing was too much trouble. We booked for a pre-theatre dinner and as we didn't have enough time for a sweet and coffee before the show, we went back after the show finished and had both then. They even kept our wine for us!! You can't get better service than that.

Conveniently placed for local theatres. Very friendly and attentive staff, serving excellent quality food at good prices. We weren't sure what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised. Will DEFINITELY visit again.

A really good family run restaurante with two brothers front of house and implausable but amusing patter about their days as fishermen in the old country.
If you do not like what's on the menu, just ask them to cook you dinner and they will put something together for you.
Busy pre-theatre, but you should walk in without a booking as the restaurate clears at the obvious time before filling up again later

Great location for a meal pre or post Victoria theatre show. A pasta dish each and a shared side salad more than enough for lunch; spaghetti with seafood was one of the best I've tried - plenty of mussels, calamari, prawns & baby octopus. For 2 pasta dishes, side salad and a 1/2 bottle of Chianti approx £30.

Service was excellent; friendly, attentive & gave the impression of a family owned & run restaurant. Made a nice change from the big chain Italian restaurants. Decor nothing to write home about, but was clean, relatively minimal & inoffensive. Selection of background music was a bit odd; at times like 80s wedding disco music but not so loud as to annoy, perhaps some people enjoy it!

A small very friendly italian Restaurant, where expensive wine costs under 20 quid! Starters maybe a bit on the large side. Nothing special about the decor, but the staff were very attentive and the food pretty good. Well placed for Victoria Station and I would go again. The liver was very good.
