This restaurant is one of London's best kept secrets tucked away in legal land behind lincolns inn. I orginally stumbled upon it by mistake but it has rapidly become one of my favourite restaurants and if given the choice I always opt for the chancery.
The menu changes seasonally. The food, whatever I choose is always packed with delicate, innovative and evocative flavours and presentation is superb. I have never had a duff meal. The foie gras if on the menu is a prime choice, cooked to perfection with a crisp exterior and gorgeous, buttery, melting interior served with an innovative choice of accompaniment.
Small , surprising amuse bouche tickle the palate preparing for the course to come.
Service is excellent - the quality of the food mellows one into forgiving any small errors. Even the wine is served at perfect temperature.
I recommend this restaurant highly - because of its location it affords privacy and ambience hard to find in the more central restaurants in London.
The Chancery serves modern, fusion cuisine in a super chic, black and white decor. There is also a bar serving a wide range of cocktails.
