A long established restaurant for 'the older crowd' ie over 50 I guess. It is a traditional indeed iconic 3 course Italian/Continental restaurant serving very good varied andtraditional food in a smart athmosphere to long standing customers. Do go (even if under 50)to experience this wonderful place before it closes when the Owner retires in a few years. About £25 per head for the works i think but check. Do reserve. A great experience. Also see Oslo Court NW8 for a sort of similar experience. Highly recommended

We are regulars and so of course we get good service from the long-serving staff, but I think everyone does. It's a proper old-fashioned Italian restaurant, not a pizza/pasta place, with extensive printed menu, plus seasonal dishes that change every couple of months, and then (genuine) specials of the day. Dishes are freshly prepared with authentic ingredients and house-prepared sauces. On offer are all the old faithfuls you'd expect and quite a lot else besides. The kind of place which abounds in Italy, but isn't seen too often any longer over here, Capriccio caters for a predominantly older clientele not too worried about prices. These are on the high standard of middling, while the food is on the higher side of middling at least. By no means a cool place to be seen, or adventurous, Capriccio is for when you wish to eat reliably well in trad style. Standards are consistent and the staff are professional but friendly with it. We could do with more such places.
