A great friendly restaurants, which I have been coming to for many years and love the food.
A lot of locals also use this restaurant on a regular basis.

a blind bat, could have cooked better. Sugar in bread, yogurt,
ketchup in most dishes. Portions pathetically, small and served in nasty bowls. Rice, cooked 3 days earlier. Staff, very blazeh and vacant.
Idea of chilly hot, was just to chop up a small green chilly and scattering it on top of each dish. State of interior: disgustingly dirty, with dog tape stuck on walls. Dead rose in a glass on table.
Price no comment. we had no alcohol.

Just got ripped off on the price of food
we were charged twice for beers and we were being charged £11 beer. Please take your calculator with you. 12 years of curry clubs and this is an appalling experience

I just made the terrible mistake of taking a colleague here for lunch. I had my doubts beforehand and should have listened to them. The waiter was inexperienced and indifferent. We ordered lassis which only arrived mid-way through the meal and completely lacking in flavour. None of the usual cumin powder or coriander leaves in sight. Starter of onion bhaji and main course tarka daal were passable but other than that the food was bland and didn't even taste particularly Indian. The crockery was old and stained, we had to ask to receive cutlery and, despite there only being 5 customers in the restaurant the service was rude and slow. To top it all off prices were far from cheap. There is something distinctly suspicious about this restaurant and I advise people to AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Chose this indian restaurant as close to the Athenaeum hotel where we stayed reserved table was ready for us as promised - right in the heart of Mayfair - what a disappointment - food the worse indian food I have ever tasted and not very much of it either - chutney like water - samoas hard - onion bagee unregonizeble - bill excessive but were with family group and didn't want to query the bill - definitely won't be going back again - toilet facilities unacceptable....

Wandering round Shepherd Market, hungry and just about to get rained on, we ducked into this place. It looked reasonable from the door. Then we were taken DOWNSTAIRS, and seated next to the cases of bottled water and jars of mixed vegetable pickle. The service was fairly friendly, if not entirely helpful. We placed our order for food and our poppadoms arrived quickly but when we asked for a beer, they told us they’d run out, yet offered no alternative. Then half way through our main course, suddenly 2 beers appeared (think someone had been shopping)! The food was tasteless, greasy and had a ‘processed’ feel to it. The chicken was not recognisable. The nan bread broke up and crumbled as you tried to tear it. The rice was OK and the yogurt was delicious! And it was not cheap. If the food had been good, it would have gone down as one of those shabby, quirky places that serves amazing food for a great price. But it wasn’t. And we will not be going back – EVER.

i work close to shepards market W1 and came across this indian restaurant, the food was not the best as iv had worse the service was excellent i must say, reason why the food to me wasnt what i expected is becuase the curry that i orderd was covered in oil which was very dissapointing.
Have your say
