I have lived near Queensway for two years and have been to Tuk Tuk several times. The food is decent and excellent value for money. I think the only thing one could complain about is the certain members of staff are not too friendly.
The star rating above is misleading as it asks you to rate level of service which is 5/10. The quality of food is 7/10 but 10/10 rating for value for money.

Please put a sign out side the restaurant to make people aware that each person has to order a meal! Beware! You can't share a big meal. If you don't order each a meal you are not allow in there! Been to so many chinese restaurants in UK never have I heard of such policy in my life.

Little cosy place where the "locals" come too.
The service is not great, but the food is good.
When you order you must know that it is very big portions - you can split 1 into 2!!

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I was impressed with Tuk Tuk. As the reviewer below says, the price tells you that it isn't going to be world class Thai, but the portions were huge and the staff very efficient. For large serves of cheap and tasty food there aren't many better places in London.

they serve basic and cheap food. service is ok. the food is ok as well and large portions. Other reviewers have commented on the quality - to be fair, you get what you pay for! They should use some common sense, the prices (£4 for a main) are an indication that it's not great. If they want good Thai then they should somewhere else and pay twice the price. If you're hungry and want something quick and cheap Tuk Tuk is great.

NOT a venue for those who enjoy the delights of Thai food. We did not enjoy our meal for the following reasons:
Prawns in the prawn satay were tough and over-cooked.
The chicken in the curry was tough and over-cooked - made a complaint to the waitress.
The meat in the pork dish did not taste like any pork we have ever had before.
The noodle dish looked OK but had some strange and worrying tastes.
To cap it all the waitress was rude to me when I complained about the chicken, I decided it was best to keep quiet over the other problems. They didn't charge for the chicken dish and we paid for the rest and were glad to escape from the place.
To be quite clear I know Far-Eastern food very well, both cheap and expensive varieties and would not recommend this place to any of our friends. I scored two points for service as the place was very busy, no Asian people though.

Very cheap and cheerful place with nice and buzzing atmosphere, clean and modern, service was great, although they did DEMAND a service charge (rather than customers' discretion, with I thought was wrong behaviour). The food was shockingly bad!

This place is great! Quick, cheap and yummy food.
Its a great place to go for a quick bite before a movie with friends or for lunch or after work etc.
The food is really tasty, and good standard Asian fair. Noodles and curries and the stand out dishes, but others like the coconut chicken and spicy beef are also really tasty, and you can also get take-away.
I wouldn't recommend it for big family groups, romantic dinners or a business do as the tables are close together and its not the kind of place you go to relax and sit for hours over a meal - but if you want a quick, cheap, and tasty meal, this is your place!
Staff aren't overly friendly but they are polite, efficient and get the job done.
Tuk Tuk is probably not to everyone’s liking, but its great eatery and suitable for that area (lots of travellers and young people) and definitely worth a try - we love it!

We had a terrible experience. After tasting our entree we decided to leave as the fish cakes were rubbery and the chicken satay was dry. The staff were loud and talking amongst themselves in the restaurant itself. Definetely do not go to this restaurant!

We dined at Tuk Tuk four times whilst in London last year. As we were on a budget, we wanted food at a reasonable price that still tasted great and Tuk Tuk provided just that. The food was absolutely amazing, the prices very very reasonable (especially for London) and the service excellent. It was only 2 minutes from where we were staying and well worth the money!! :)
I recommend it to anyone staying in Bayswater, London

We visited Tuk Tuk on the 4th October 2008. We were staying at the K-West hotel has a birthday treat. We decided to eat out and fancied Thai to be honest we were not impressed with the service or the food the noodles were very oily and the waitress told one person in the group that they should not order the duck as a started as she will not be able to finish her meal. This was not done in a friendly manner at all,
the order was not correct and the waitress started arguing with another member of the party who was vegetarian when they refused to take a meet dish as this was not what they had ordered. The attitude was not great and neither was the food we all vowed would never go back and to boot one was left with a stomach ache.

Ha were in London and as it was close to our hotel, we tried tuk tuk. The staff was really friendly and the food (Laksa, tom yum gai) as lovely as possible and so much, we were unable to finish our portions. All for a fiver. Try the mango lassi too! Highly recommend this place, great value for money - we kept going back.

The best Thai food ever. Excellent value for very little money. If I had to pick any complaint it would be that we were rushed to leave, even though there were empty tables.
Have your say
