Agra is brilliant, despite the comments here which must be before a change in management, the food is outstanding. Service is pretty much standard for an east London Indian; bit disinterested.

If there is something you fancy that's not on the menu they are happy to make it. The takeaway service is great too, they often throw in a free side or drink!

I don't know why this place is quiet, maybe dated decor is off-putting! Never had anything from this place that is not delicious. Only downside is that they're a bit slow... Even when quiet (always quiet!)

Much better than brick lane!!

I have been going to the Agra every now and again for about 6 years and I last went about 4 weeks ago. I am very surprised by the negative reviews here because the food although not outstanding is perfectly acceptable and the service from the waiters is very good. This is also really good value for money as recently they introduced a banquet deal inc. starter, poppadomms, main course, rice and naan and a side dish for about £12. This is exceptionally good value. The restaurant when we go on a Wednesday night is very quiet so I guess they need the business but I would recommend it.

My partner & I use the take-away delivery service from Agra, as i am a wheelchair user and can't access the building. For many years we used them with no complaints. Then we started having one disaster after another whenever we ordered a take-away. We stopped using Agra despite a lot of excuses, a complementary meal from the Manager(oh yes, they got the order wrong on this occasion as well!!!) and the food was appalling. We stopped using them for nearly 2 years. About 3 weeks ago out of desperation we ordered a curry from Agra, which was reasonable so we decided to give them another chance, This is the 3rd time we've ordered from them and on all three occasions they have not sent us all of the things that we ordered! I don't think we will be ordering from them again.

We've been eating at Agra in Dec 2010 and we were very delighted not only by the meal, but as well by the service. It was really excellent, therefore I am bit confused about the poor rating here -may there have been a change in personnel? The waiter was very caring, but not exaggerated. The interior is hm well a matter of taste but not dirty or a zoo of rats ...

I would just like to say that on the 23rd December 2009 we have been to a wedding, and to my shock i found the whole curry stuffed with thick curry sauce just like in back yard and something that looked like rat leg.

I have started a fight but I'm sure everyone else knows about this, as their are rats running around the whole place.

when a booking is made i have herd that the food quantity is not enough to go around the whole guest list and have placed a order for a special decorated tray (tali) which never showed up, so basically we have paid for nothing.

we have recently been to Agra to eat for Xmas, must say, the food is really bad, chef just stands around at the front of the place, the place smells of bad curry mixed with cigs by the toilet area, maybe the cook smoke in the kitchen, i don't know.

I would not recommend any important meals such as Xmas or anything else their.

The Agra serves badly cooked food with an attitude. Always empty it must survive on takeaway orders where people don't complain. Every time I have bought food there I have given them the benefit of the doubt. This evening I ate a very poor Dansak and this is after repeated poor meals. Do not eat here if you have any appreciation of Indian food.

I have eaten again for the second time and have very negative feeling again. After my first visit, I expected to be better, how wrong I was, food still the same, not very good, up to my standards, also service of a waiter, not all was not good.

I dont think I will come back to this place again. Not sure about anyone else, but i speak for myself.

Hi, I think that i have had better than this before. I will keep this short, food is not so great. Place looks fab, however the reason im thier is to have good food and if the food I was served was not to my standard then I will have to criticise this. I eat in many places and review them. So far Agra have let me down.

Next time make sure food is hot, cooked properly and wel maintained. personally i would not recommend my friends, unfortunantly i will have to be there again, to review for second time.
