Husband and wife team James and Emma Faulkes and colleague David Abbott whom they got to know at the famed La Trompette restaurant, have created a winning combination of talent and business know-how at the relative newbie, Magdalen of London Bridge.
The menu at Magdalen is simply a reflection of the food we love to eat. We combine fantastic British produce with the best from the seasonal European markets, treating it simply and allowing the main ingredient to shine. We are not moved by the latest trends but look towards the robust classical cuisine of Britain and France.
There is an emphasis on charcuterie, properly made sauces and simple yet perfectly made puddings. We want people to tuck into our food avoiding pomp and ceremony, and to this end sharing dishes always feature, perhaps a venison pie or whole roast pheasant in the winter, and whole baked fish or grilled veal chop in the summer.
