This is a truly wonderful restaurant. We go there regularly with our three children. The staff are friendly and polite. The food is good, always fresh, hot and varied. It is also very good value.

On birthdays they surprise us with cakes.

Our almost eight yr old is going to have his birthday party there as it is his favorite place!

We would really recommend a visit

went there for lunch on 27th May. I think you call it extortion when a 12% service charge is included for buffet: there's no service: you get up yourself and take the food you want although I do agree you can justify it for a la carte. I wasn't impressed when I checked the change once back at the car to notice that they returned to me 4 EUROS instead of £4. Considering the € is still below the £, they certainly had the best of both worlds: service charge and currency change. I don't believe they could have made such a mistake. It was calculated.

Contacted the manager once back home and after 3 weeks still hasn't come back to me. That tells you a lot about the place.

DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!

A group of us attended the restaurant on 1st March 09 for my birthday. It was a bit of a shot in the dark as no one that I knew had eaten there before and I could only go by the comments made in this review section by an unknown diner. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were pleasantly suprised. As expected,It was traditionally decorated in an oriental style but I also got the sense that it was a very clean place, this was confirmed by my visit to the ladies although the decor was a bit dated it was immaculate (this is a very important aspect to me as it says a lot about their standards of hygiene in the kitchen). We were seated right next to the fish tank which we all enjoyed and were somewhat entertained by the fish.
We chose the £12 buffet menu, for this price you can choose 7 dishes from the starters, and re-order as many times as you like. We then had crispy duck which was followed on by the main meal (of course by this time we were completely stuffed) but like the real troopers we are we presevered!! Again we could chose 7 dishes including rice and noodles and had the option of re-ordering more. For each sitting, the plates were warm the food was tasty and well cooked, overall the standard for a Sunday evening buffet was excellent. Once we'd finnished our meal, the lights were lowered, a Happy Birthday song was played and they suprised me with a delicious chocolate cake with a candle.I was very touched by this as I'd only jokingly mentioned it was my birthday at the start of the meal and some 3 hours later they'd remembered and added this personal touch. An enjoyable night was had by all, and I felt it worth doing a review, it's something I've never done before.

Visited Taste Buffet on 13/06/08 in a group of 10. (It was to celebrate a friends' Birthday)
Taste buffet excelled with their hospitality! They placed us in a sectioned- off area which was very nicely decorated and very cosy.
Restaurant was clean, tidy & the staff very attentive and the food was tasty and plentiful and very good value!
Highly recommended- will definitely go back!
Have your say
