All In London Review
It's always a pleasure to stop in for Southbank drinks at this lively, independent restaurant-bar
Whenever this was designed – and it has been in this location for a while – it wasn’t style that was on the agenda. The conservatory-style space almost looks like a temporary pop-up that is set to disappear at any given moment. But this is the charm, for us at least. The Southbank is full of polished bars and corporate chains so the sight of Studio 6 still going strong is welcome. It serves a reasonable standard of food with the menu made up of the likes of fish & chips, steak, fishcakes and grilled chicken sandwiches (all around £10 a dish). You might not come here especially for food but the perennially buzzing atmosphere makes it a destination for drinks for sure. The informal dining space inside is matched by a relaxed outdoor beer garden that stretches around the venue. Summer and winter, inside or out, Studio 6 is always busy. The loud music makes sure you don’t forget that this is just as much about drinking as it is about eating and the range of beverages is strong. We drink Belgium’s Palm pale ale from the tap and along with that there is a good range of interesting beer. Wine is cheap and cheerful and no bottle will set you back more than £20.
Looking for an upbeat atmosphere for a drink and some bar food? Go here for a rough around the edges restaurant bar with character.
