Over priced and bland pretty much summed up the meal I had last night. £10 for three scallops wrapped in bacon. The same sauce seemed to be served with each dish. The sea bass was bland and the servings of potatoes were small. The service was bizarre to say the least. Repeatedly harassed by the most peculiar wine waiter I have ever come across who then wouldn't take the food order because the manager had to do that. 2 courses with wine and coffee cost nearly £100, and for that price I would have expected something a bit more impressive. Nice surroundings but a bit of a triumph of style over substance

There were barely any reviews for this restaurant apart from the three on here so I was a little apprehensive about booking it. Anyway we ended up booking a table for 5 on a Saturday night and I was very impressed. The menu is extensive with a fabulous choice and even if you're not a fish lover there are other things on the menu. All our meals were cooked to perfection and delicious; the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was perfect; not too formal but nicely relaxed and friendly.I don't ussually leave reviews for restaurants online but felt that this one thoroughly deserved to have some more positive reviews on-line. A special mention to Ozzie and Nino who were out waiters and who were exceptional

We found it difficult to find many reviews about this restaurant on the internet, but decided to give it a go anyway. This was a good decision.

We were impressed by both the quality of the food and also by the staff, who were both friendly and efficient. They tirelessly attempted to humour our 14-month old daughter, who wasn't having the best of days and went far beyond the call of duty.

We went on Sunday and I enjoyed their Sunday Roast menu. The other three adult members of our party ordered a devstatingly good muchroom soup, followed by fish and loved it (halibut). I had the sardines for the first course, which were lovely (I could have managed a third sardine, but that is because I have a hearty appetite) and proceeded to the roast beef, which in the case of the set menu, comes with potatoes, parsnip, carrots and yorkshire pudding. Some extra veg would have been even better, but what I had was lovely, tasty and filling. To follow, I had the cheese and biscuits, with a lovely chutney. Everyone loved their deserts (ice cream and strawberry cheesecake).

In short, I would recommend this restaurant to everyone (by the way, there is parking round the back of the restaurant). The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the cooking and service were top-notch and the waiters took genuine pleasure in entertaining our daughter.

The service and attention paid by all members of staff was second to none, very professional.
Was a very interseting menu with a excellant range of fish and meat dishes available. we eat a three course meal and couldn't fault any of our dishes. My wife started with sardines which were cooked to perfection, and I had the very creamy and tasty mussels.
Main course were Halibut and Cod dishes, both expertly cooked with just then right amount of sauce with each dish, side orders of salad, chefs potatoes and mixed vegatables.
sweet were to die for, my wife had the white and dark chocolate mousse and I enjoyed the lemon cheesecake. A bottle of house white complemented the meal.

All that is left to say is book a table as we would reccomend Sea Salt very highly, Beckenham is famous for it's restuarants, and Sea Salt is one of the best.

My partner and I were looking forward to our meal at sea salt, but left very disappointed. The food didn’t live up to the ambience of the restaurant or the excellent service. The bacon which was wrapped around my partner’s scallop starter was watery, undercooked and straight out of the value section of a supermarket. I’ve never seen someone make such a mess of my oysters which weren’t properly shelled or particularly fresh. The mains were no better either. My monk fish with a mustard sauce was bland and uninspiring for the £15 I paid for it and the trout my partner had was no better and over cooked. The wine list was a tiny ray of sunshine in an otherwise dull culinary experience. The bottle of Chapel Down Bacchus we had with the meal was excellent, but it just further underlined the fact that this place has got all the other bits right apart from the food. I left feeling as though I’d bought a nice Mercedes only to find out it was a cut and shut.
