Following its success in Sweden, new restaurant concept AVEQIA is set to launch on 17th September in Farringdon. AVEQIA offers culinary meetings in a fun and sociable environment, providing guests with the opportunity to cook together with Michelin starred chefs in state of the art kitchens. From the amateur to the expert, corporate groups or individuals are encouraged to enjoy a relaxed and social evening of cooking with esteemed chefs from prestigious restaurants worldwide.

AVEQIA in Farringdon will be the first of the group to be located outside Sweden. With a capacity of 80 guests per session, it will house a bar, lounge and five kitchens each with their own dining room. Interior designer and architect Jenny Andersson has decked the kitchens out in top of the range equipment from Gaggeneau and Siemens with the aim of creating a space that is a combination of both a Michelin starred restaurant and a luxurious home kitchen.

An evening at the restaurant will include a glass of Champagne on arrival, a four course menu with chefs leading the cooking process, and a chance to enjoy the food created with complementing wines chosen by the house sommelier. With a focus on Swedish cuisine, every dish will use the highest quality seasonal ingredient. Following dinner, guests are invited to continue their experience at the house bar until the early hours.

Having evolved successfully over the last three years, AVEQIA has two existing sites in Sweden and a turnover of around 2 million a year. The flagship site in Stockholm houses is the largest cooking school in Europe with six kitchens and a capacity of 160 guests per session, with the smaller Gothenburg site accommodating half that. The two restaurants have already entertained approx 13,000 guests between them this year. The restaurant was founded in 2009 by entrepreneur Johan Kadar and chef David Berggren, who gained experience at Michelin starred restaurant Operakällaren, Foreign Ministry and at the five-star hotel The Cellars Hohenort in South Africa. David coined the term ‘active cooking’ ten years before developing AVEQIA, with a vision to bring the guests closer to the kitchen by making them part of the cooking experience.

Combining both a top-class restaurant and cookery school, AVEQIA is an excellent venue to entertain clients, to host team building events or simply for an enjoyable evening, bringing a fresh approach to relationship building.
