This is an extremely popular restaurant with customers representing the cultural diversity of the area. Cutlery is available on request but finger eating is traditional with many locals and meals are generally spiced hotter than usually expected to match local tastes. The choice of meals is very wide with well over fifty different dishes on the menu and the kitchen is situated centrally to the restaurant behind glass panels so preparation can be observed.
Prices are very reasonable and we often leave unable to eat any more having spent less that for an average takeaway. Decor is basic but clean. People visit this restaurant to eat well and Formica tables are practical and perfectly acceptable.
For those with a sweet tooth and tempted to take a dessert home there is an impressive sweet counter by the entrance.
East Ham Tube is actually the nearest station and the restaurant is only a five or so minute walk north of the station.
Saravanaa Bhavan majors in Tamil vegetarian cooking, serving a selection of South Indian and Sri Lankan food.
