Break the Barrier has been revamped for 2017, securing its place on the river as the #1 ‘all speed’ London experience yet again.
Take to the water 21st century style as you board your own cutting edge high speed Rocket in the shadow of the iconic Tower Bridge. Thames Rockets have always been about innovative, up-to-date and leading experiences, with the Break the Barrier speed boat tour being no exception. Travel through time with tunes taking you from the modern day back to the 1960’s. There’s something for everyone as you strap yourselves in for a ‘rocket ride’ down memory lane. Settle in and hold on tight for 40 minutes of nothing but twists and turns, of rocks and rolls through the docklands, past maritime Greenwich, round the legendary O2 arena and beyond to the mighty Thames Barrier and back. This trip is all about the ride! We’ll push our Rockets to the limit and launch you laughing into the distance, with a medley of the last 6 decades of hits all blended with that little bit of rocket magic that has made us #1 on TripAdvisor for 4 years running. You’ll be singing along as you bounce across the wake, and dancing like a disco queen as we take you on a super special speedy spin.
From Sinatra to Sia you can experience the hippest hits and the hardest turns. Break the Barrier is the trip for those daring enough to experience what can truly be achieved on a Thames Rocket speedboat. No holds barred, no stone unturned, no wake knowingly missed. Thanks to our custom built 630hp twin four stroke engines (and with a little help from our highly experienced skipper team) we’ll take you there… fast! As ever our comedian guides are on hand ready to keep the banter flowing. They love nothing more than to settle you in and watch you scream with joy as you treat your loved ones (and yourself!) to the #1 activity in London.
Safety on board
On all of our Thames river experiences we demonstrate a clear and unswerving commitment to safety – your safety and comfort are paramount. We are the largest speedboat operator of RIB voyages in the UK and being the original provider of such experiences have set the industry standard others are now expected to follow. Should you require copies of our Insurance, we will be happy to e-mail this to you in advance of your booking. If you require risk assessments or Domestic Safety Management Codes then these are available to view, upon written request. We work closely with the Maritime Accident Investigation Bureau to bring in new safety codes, modes of operation and analyse how the industry can be safely improved to achieve a balance between commercial considerations and reducing risk as low as reasonably practical. Unfortunately this experience is not suitable for expectant mothers at any stage during their pregnancy. Our experiences are also not recommended for anybody with a past or current back, neck or heart condition due to the unpredictable nature of the Thames. Please understand we are not medical experts and cannot offer guidance on individual cases, our automatic advice would be if you have concerns please do not participate for your own comfort and welfare.
It is easy for less mobile customers to travel with us and we aim to include everyone. London RIB Voyages vessels have been designed to make access as straight forward as possible. Each vessel has a boarding platform at the bow, which is the same height as the London Eye pier. There is also a boarding handrail to provide support if required.
