Back in the 1950s, two young boys by the names of Michael Jagger and Keith Richards were attending school in Dartford, Kent. Little did their classmates know that they would go on to form one of the most famous bands in the world, shaping the course of popular music in the process.Jagger’s high grades meant he went on to Dartford Grammar School, which is where music school and performance venue The Mick Jagger Centre is now located, named after its most famous pupil.
There’s a varied programme of events, from rock tribute bands to gospel performances, belly dancing classes to Christmas-time panto, its main aim being to serve the local community as a performing arts centre.
