Vestry House is the local historical museum for the east London borough of Waltham Forest. Located in Walthamstow Village, the building has existed since 1730 when it was a parish workhouse; it has been a museum since 1931.
The displays tell the story of Waltham Forest not just from the Victorian era and beyond, but also of particular moments in time such as the impact rave culture had on the people living in the borough in the early 90s. The archives and library are open by appointment to anyone wishing to research local history, and there is an award-winning garden on the site too.
