For the last couple of decades the City has seen an increasing amount of shiny glass skyscrapers invading the skies, but this new building on City Road near Old Street has got people all aflutter on the internet, who have nicknamed it the 'optical illusion building'. A quirky, sloped pyramid-shape that seems to fold into itself, it's garnered mixed reactions, and it certainly cuts an odd figure next to the surrounding buildings.
High end hotel Montcalm East is housed here, and it is peak east London. Pledging inspiration to the artsy boho vibe that existed once upon a time in Shoreditch, it's actually a very typical, slightly trendier than average corporate hotel. But don't take our word for it - you'll just have to head down yourself to decide whether you love it or hate it.
