Between the late 1800’s and the present day, 89 Effra Road was the headquarters of the local Conservative Club. This meant that a beautiful old building was shut off to the public for over a century. Now that has changed. The Effra Social Club has kicked out the Conservative Club (or they might have left of their own accord) and set about putting on good beers, live bands and entertainment to create a modern interpretation of the traditional social club. So try a night down the social, you won’t be sorry.
