Be taught how to meditate by monks

Learn more about the Vipassana way
This must try is connected to: Buddhapadipa Temple

Tucked away opposite the grassy plains of Wimbledon Common is the beautiful Wat Buddhapadipa temple - the first Buddhist temple to be established in the UK.

Since being relocated to its current spot in 1976, the temple has been extended to introduce an ‘Ubosot’ (a Thai-style room for monastic ceremonies) and as a result has been named as the only Thai temple to be built in Europe. It has become a place of worship for many – particularly the Dhammaduta Monks who teach meditation courses and encourage those who want to learn more about their Vipassana way.

Drop in between 9am and 6pm on weekends to visit the main temple, although the grounds are open for the same time period during the week.
