If you habitually turn your nose up at tofu, thinking it boring or bland, banish those thoughts immediately. London’s only tofu bar at Naga restaurant uses the soya-based curd to make delectable cocktails. Yes, really. The Tofu Twist with Kahlua is a bit like an espresso martini, but with soya milk rather than dairy and a wedge of crispy tofu as a garnish. The Tofu Colada is a twist on the classic with the addition of bits of silken tofu at the bottom, unconventional perhaps, but it’s a refreshing, creamy and very moreish concoction nonetheless.
There are nibbles to soak up the booze too: we particularly like the spicy tofu fries with citrus wasabi dressing and the crispy honey and ginger-coated bites with seven spice pepper dip, a popular Vietnamese snack.
