This restaurant in Clerkenwell has come up with the rather extraordinary concept of eating in the pitch black. Why? To get our senses truly awakened.
Meals are served by blind people and the experience is designed to make us aware of our other perceptions apart from sight, such as taste and smell. It also encourages the human experience of dining, although blind guides are there to help if you do need help in the dark.
The varied menu comes courtesy of resident chef Oliver Romain and the wines are chosen especially by blind wine-tasting expert, Christophe Garnier.
But the best part is… you don’t need to dress up. “This place is totally devoured of vanity,” say the Dans le Noir team.
