There are so many variations on the KFC format out there. Walk along any London high street and the PFC’s (Perfect Fried Chicken), UFC’s (Ultimate Fried Chickens) and Chicken Cottages will vouch for that.
Now the newest incarnation could even adopt the exact same acronym as the original, KFC. But instead of Kentucky, see Korean. Korean fried chicken, or ‘yangnyeom tongdak’, is the latest food trend to hit East London and you can pick it up at Jubo on Rivington Street. Rumours that you can order buckets, beans and gravy are wildly inaccurate – or perhaps just imagined by us – but there is a family-sized chicken dinner platter that will afford you eight wings, eight strips and three sides – one of which is Korean slaw. Excellent.
