In the words of The Correspondents, Oh no, what's happened to Soho? Oh no, where will all the reprobates go?
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock in the suburbs lately you’ll be aware that Soho is undergoing a rather dramatic transformation, much to the dismay of everyone except the property developers responsible.
The construction of Crossrail has resulted in the closure of several music venues, while other legendary landmarks are to be demolished to make way for shopping complexes and overpriced apartments. We recommend experiencing Soho before it changes beyond recognition by visiting these important places currently under threat: the Curzon cinema, one of London’s best with ultra comfy seats and screenings of arthouse movies; Denmark Street, haunt of musicians since the 19th century; and what’s left of seedy Walker’s Court with its peep shows and sex shops, some of which have already closed.
