Where: Lucha Britannia – Poyser Street, Hackney
Listen up folks; an epic battle between good and evil has been taking place in Hackney with such regularity that it is quite simply embarrassing for you if you haven’t witnessed it. And no, this battle has nothing to do with the number of new build flats, lack of affordable options in said new builds and the noble people opposing that. No, this epic battle is one of comic book heroes and villains, bloodied bodies and most of all… masks! This is Lucha Britannia.
Like Mexican wrestling but with a London slant, the awesome, original, incomparable spectacular mixes wrestlers with names like Transexico, Jerry Bakewell and Zombie Janey together with comedy, ultra (fake) violence and cabaret. It’s clearly the most fun you can have in a leotard.
Tickets cost £15 in advance and £20 on the door and show times can be found here.
